POSTDOCTORAL POSITION
Hybrid perovskite solar cells: Evaluation of the elimination of lead from the structure and its impact on performance
A postdoctoral position is open in the group Opto-Electronics, Photovoltaics and Nanostructures at the IRCP institute of the ¨¦cole Nationale Sup¨¦rieure de Chimie de Paris in the frame of a project with an international chemical group.
Hybrid perovskite solar cells are a 3rd generation photovoltaic technology in which the absorber layer is made of an organo-metallic labile crystalline structure based on the ABX3 lattice. They have been shown to be a promising alternative technology to Organic PV and also DSSC, exhibiting more than 20% PCE. They have potential to reach more than 25% PCE. However, the record efficiency solar cells are based on lead containing materials. The project aims at evaluating if lead can be replaced by a more benign metallic or transition metallic compound and to define new promising hybrid perovskites materials for the photovoltaic application. The recruited researcher will investigate various strategies to eliminate lead, if this substitution entails a dramatic modification of the crystalline lattice and its impact on the electronic as well as optical properties. The new material potentialities will be evaluated in full solar cell structures.
Salary: Fixed-term contract as CNRS researcher (2120 € net/month).
Position available as soon as possible for 12 months
Applicant profile: Chemist or Physical-Chemist with a profound knowledge in chemistry of hybrid Materials, thin films, solid state (perovskite) solar cell fabrication and characterization. It will be appreciated that the candidate masters thin film characterization techniques (structural, morphological, optical, electrical¡) and advanced characterization techniques of the solar cell functioning.
The candidate must also present:
- Good communication skills and have experience in scientific paper writing.
- Interest to work in a highly competitive international research contex.
- Project management skills.
