Thanksgiving is around the corner and around 135 million US customers are expected to make purchases for this celebration. But not everyone is joining the mad rush to the stores. According to a survey by consulting agency Deloitte, over sixty percent of consumers would shop online on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Although the term shopping here refers to either purchases or researching on what they would like to buy. But the sentiment of online shopping has changed retailers' strategy as well. Walmart said it would give offers on Sunday with more discounts to kick off online shopping activities, one day earlier than Cyber Monday, which is the traditional day for buying on the internet. Another poll found that shoppers are willing to wait for deals this year to get bigger discounts, as they did closer to Christmas last year. The U.S. National Retail Federation expects holiday sales to rise 3.7 percent. |
