[交流] UCL博士后职位信息,癌症细胞成像研究

单位
Centre for Advanced Biomedical Imaging, University College London
项目简介
We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the design, development and evaluation of novel radiotracers for cancer imaging. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant multidisciplinary research group within one of the premier biomedical imaging centres in Europe. The successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art organic and radiochemistry facilities, in close collaboration with Prof. Erik ?rstad, Department of Chemistry.

Resistance to chemotherapy and molecularly-targeted therapies provides a major hurdle for cancer treatment due to the underlying genetic and biochemical heterogeneity of tumours. Despite intensive research, the field has struggled to provide a solution for sensitive and specific molecular imaging of tumour response and resistance to therapy. Employing a combination of innovative preclinical imaging and metabolomic strategies, we are developing new tools to noninvasively assess the mechanisms that tumour cells employ to resist treatment. The successful candidate will develop new chemistry and novel fluorine-18 labelled radiotracers for imaging with Positron Emission Tomography (PET) to support this programme of research. In collaboration with Cancer Research UK and UCL Cancer Trials Centre (http://www.ctc.ucl.ac.uk), we will seek to translate these novel imaging methods to the clinic.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in synthetic chemistry, be self-motivated, able to work independently, and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. The applicant must have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry or radiochemistry. Applicants with an interest in chemical biology, experience with multidisciplinary research, radiochemistry and analytical/quality-control techniques (e.g., HPLC, NMR, mass-spec) is preferred. They should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of scientific publication and presentation at international research meetings.

We are fully committed to the career development of the successful candidate, providing a platform for them to launch an independent career. It would be expected that the successful applicant will present data arising from this project at leading international conferences, publish as first author in high impact papers, with help given in the preparation of personal fellowship applications.
