This requirement has become more and more serious with the development of new technologies, such as low voltage with no effect, new structural smelter, and cathode steelbar. In this paper theory of energy budget analyzing has been studied, and the adjusting trends of energy balance have been proposed with the application of four low-voltage technologies, which includes transforming the designing of inner lining from heat dissipation to thermal insulation, properly improving anodic current density, adjusting regional energy, and matching technical parameters. Also the measures of adjusting energy balance are pointed out, which are optimizing baking start-up rules, controlling sudden anode effect, bettering replacement of anode, strengthening necessary external thermal insulation, timely adjusting flue gas flux, and intensifying daily production management as well. An Enterprise of Chalco has reduced working voltage from 4.15 to 3.90 for general smelters, while to 3.77 for the smelters with new structure when popularizing the technology, and the apparent energy saving has been achieved.
