The 28th International Conference on OCEAN, OFFSHORE AND ARCTIC ENGINEERING, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA — 31 May - 5 June, 2009 Offshore Geotechnics Symposium Call for abstract Deadline: 6th October, 2008 Coordinator: Horst Brandes, University of Hawaii, USA Email: horst@hawaii.edu Co-Coordinator: Dong-Sheng Jeng, University of Dundee, Email: D.Jeng@dundee.ac.uk The 28th International Conference on Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE 2009) will be held at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel in Honolulu, Hawii from May 31 to June 5, 2009. ASME and the OOAE Division of the International Petroleum Technology Institute (IPTI) are organizing the conference. The conference will draw together members of the scientific community, researchers, academia and the ocean engineering industry from around the world. OMAE has been included in ISI-List since 2006, and it is one of few conferences in the list. Offshore Geotechnics Symposium is a new symposium in the program of OCEAN, OFFSHORE AND ARCTIC ENGINEERING (OOAE, formerly OMAE) Conference. We would like to keep this symposium and make it becoming one of strength of OMAE conferences as well as the Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering (ASME). The topics of the symposium are (but not limited to): • Shallow foundations • Piles • Suction caissons • Drag and plate anchors • Geohazards • Site investigations • Seabed mechanics • Fluid-soil-structure interaction • Centrifuge modeling for offshore geotechnics Please submit your abstracts through OMAE09 website (select ‘Offshore Geotechnics’ symposium) before 6th October 2008. (http://www.asmeconferences.org/OMAE09/index.cfm). Each registration can only present two papers in the conference. Please note that selected high quality papers in Offshore Geotechnics Symposium will be further reviewed for Journal of OMAE.
