| The large magnification micrograph shows that the ZrB2 particles tended to be spherical and aggregated. There are a host of spherical droplet ZrB2 particles whose grain sizes are diverse around the large ZrB2 aggregate, which indicates that the formation of ZrB2 particles was via the liquid phase reaction mechanism. At higher temperatures, the spherical droplet ZrB2 particles thus formed are ready to proceed by liquid diffusion and have the tendency of aggregate together to form large particles. |
