PhD opening in City University of Hong Kong

A fully funded PhD position is available in Dr. Chung Tin's Lab (https://personal.cityu.edu.hk/~chungtin/) in the field of Neural signal (EEG/EMG/Neural spikes). The initial task for the candidate will be development of new neural signal recording system. Interested students with backgrounds in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related area are strongly encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to applicants with Master’s degree or at his/her final year of master program. The candidates should have strong interest in interdisciplinary research and highly motivated, with experience in one or more of the following area: 1. Electronic Circuit design and testing (basic amplifiers, filters, DAQ, etc) 2. Signal Processing (experience with EEG and EMG would be a plus) 2. Programming (preferably C/C++) and modeling skills The minimum English proficiency requirements are: a) a minimum TOEFL score 79 (internet-based); or b) a minimum overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS; To apply, please send your CV and transcripts with a brief description of your research experience/interest to Dr. Chung TIN (chungtin@cityu.edu.hk) by 15 August 2015 Applications will be carefully reviewed and only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
