要想把长句子换成短句子，首先要把长句子的结构弄清楚。否则就会弄出匪夷所思的笑话，完全改变了原来长句子要表达的意思。 这个长句子前半部分主要说了两件平行的事：（1）determining the properties of AO7和（2）leading to the reaction mechanisms，具体说就是 pH plays an important role both in determining the properties of AO7 and in leading to the reaction mechanisms。 而后半句则主要是解释前半句中第（2）件事中的 reaction mechanisms，具体说就是介绍 reaction mechanisms有哪些作用。其中介绍了三件平行的作用，分别是：（1）dye degradation；（2）direct oxidation和（3）direct reduction，也就是：the reaction mechanisms can enhance （1） the dye degradation, （2）direct oxidation and （3） direct reduction。原句看上去很复杂是因为对这三件平行的作用又分别做了解释和描述：如第一件（1） the dye degradation，后面具体举了个例子：such as hydroxyl radical attack；第二件（2）direct oxidation 后面说了其原因：caused by the positive hole；第三件（3） direct reduction后面再次说了其原因：caused by the electron （in the conducting band）。因为这些解释和说明，致使很容易对整个句子的结构看不清楚。 我想经过这些分析，就不一定非要把长句变成短句了（因为原句很完美，换成短句从语言上来说就不是那么好）。即使要换成短句，也不至于随意乱变换了。可以尝试将前后两半分开说： Therefore, pH plays an important role both in determining the properties of AO7 and in leading to the reaction mechanisms。The （reaction ）mechanisms can enhance the dye degradation, such as hydroxyl radical attack, direct oxidation caused by the positive hole and direct reduction caused by the electron in the conducting band. 其中后半句还可以进一步分解： The mechanisms can enhance the dye degradation, direct oxidation and direct reduction. One example of dye degradation is hydroxyl radical attack. Direct oxidation and reduction are caused by the positive hole and the electron in the conducting band, respectively. 总结一下就是： Therefore, pH plays an important role both in determining the properties of AO7 and in leading to the reaction mechanisms. The mechanisms can enhance the dye degradation, direct oxidation and direct reduction. One example of dye degradation is hydroxyl radical attack. Direct oxidation and reduction are caused by the positive hole and the electron in the conducting band, respectively. |

我不赞成 "句太长" 一说 问题不是 "句太长", 是 "句太短" 或 "不够长" !! "Dye degradation may occur as a result of - Hydroxyl radical attack: ... - Direct oxidation due to loss of electron or presence of "positive hole" *: ... - Direct reduction by electron in the conducting band*: ... AO7 may catalyze all three of these reactions when the pH** level is kept in check * LEO GER Lose Electron = Oxidation Gain Electron = Reduction ** 请教: 是不是配位化学里的路易斯酸碱 ??? |
