Peer reviewers can now get credit! 建议大伙试试这个体系。

Generally, reviewing papers or manuscripts for most of the journals is for free. You read the manuscripts, check whether they have issues, write down your comments, and send them to the editorial office. And, that's it. You would't get paid. Of cause, you can write down your reviewing history in your CV but it is relatively hard for others to know whether you have actually reviewed those papers. Now, there launched a relatively new system called Publons. Which will give you credit for your review work. You need to tell them how many articles you have reviewed and after verification (they will contact the editors to see if you have actually reviewed those papers) they will give you credit. Here is the introduction from the website: ============================== Giving credit for peer review allows researchers to build their academic reputation through their peer review activity. The hypothesis is that when reviewers get official recognition for their work, they are more willing to accept review requests, more willing to prioritise time to do the review quicker, and more likely to do a comprehensive review. In short, they are more willing to put aside their own research to selflessly help with someone else's. =============================== More information and instructions can be found at: 1. https://www.editage.cn/insights/ ... -up-science-publons 2. https://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-41174-834562.html 3. https://blog.sciencenet.cn/blog-41174-834562.html I suggest those who have already reviewed papers for peer review journals try this system. |
