Computational Scientist in Data Mining or Machine Learning
(数据挖据或机器学习的研究学者)

The Data Mining & Bioinformatics Group (http://webusers.xula.edu/kzhang/) at
the Computer Science Department, Xavier University of Louisiana, is soliciting
applications for a full-time postdoctoral research position.  We seek a highly
motivated Computational Scientist to join our efforts to develop novel next-
generation algorithms for mining streaming data. Required qualifications include：
1. a relevant PhD in computer science, software engineering, computer
engineering, electronic engineering or statistics,
2. familiarity with data mining and machine learning theory and algorithms,
3. minimum 5 years programming experience in C++, Java, Matlab or Python,
and
4. good written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of transfer learning, deep learning and high performance computing is
a plus. This is a three-year (July 2015- June 2018) appointment with the possibility
of extension.  Competitive salary and benefits commensurate with experience.

The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to closely work with some
of the established researchers in the field of big data.

of applications will begin July 1st, 2015, and will continue until the position is
filled.

Candidates with a master’s degree but strong research experiences in statistical
data mining are also encouraged to apply.
