Dear Professor ＊＊＊: Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I am sure you have a busy schedule. My name is ＊＊＊, and I am currently a master’s degree candidate majoring in power engineering at China’s ＊＊＊university. Recently, I read some of your publications and visited your group’s website. I am currently conducting research on vibration analysis and control, most of which were experimental. and I have recently learned that you have numerous publications regarding modal analysis and FRF analysis. Your research is of great interest to me since it corresponds well with my research interests. I was wondering if you have any plans for additional PhD students beginning in the fall of 2016. I would be honored to be considered a candidate to join your research efforts there at University of ＊＊＊. I want to learn more about your program and would appreciate any information you might forward to me. I would be happy to send you my CV if you would kindly provide me with transmission instructions.
