A special event entitled Theory, Algorithms and Applications of Dissipative Particle Dynamics, will take place September 21 - 23, 2015, Shanghai, China. The workshop focuses on mesoscopic science, which bridges the gap between microscopic and macroscopic worlds. With increasing attention on biological systems and soft matter research, DPD has become one of the most widely used methods for mesoscopic modeling due to its simplicity together with high computational efficiency, and flexibility in modeling thermodynamic and kinetic properties. Dissipative particle dynamics (DPD) is a coarse-grained method designed for mesoscopic simulations. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together researchers in the field to share insights and to discuss progress of key challenges.

The workshop also features a 4-hour hands-on tutorial session on practicing Dissipative Particle Dynamics simulations using the LAMMPS simulator (https://lammps.sandia.gov/).
