Pycnidia subglobose, 50-200μm diam.,usually with a distinct straight or somewhat curved neck up to 80 μm long, occasionally touching but not confluent.The outer elongated cells of the pycnidial wall are often characteristically inflated.aerial mycelium occasionally aberrant small non-ostiolate pycnidia occur. 5-23 μm diam.Conidial matrix usually salmony in colour. Conidia variable in shape and dimensions, mostly ovoid-ellipsoidal, sometimes curved,(4-)4.5-7(-8.5) x (1.5-)2-3(-3.5)μm, hyaline, or sometimes very pale brown. Chlamydospores highly variable and irregular, uni- or multicellular, mostly intercalary, sometimes terminal-lateral, solitary or in chains, when septate usually dicyosporous,often with a botryoid configuration,smooth,verrucose or, rarely, tuberculate, subhyaline to brown,8-35μm diam., non-septate chlamydospores 5-15μm diam. Colonies on OA rather fast growing at room temperature, 5-7cm diam.after 7 days,at 30℃ even fast growing;on MA also fast growing at room temperature, 5-8cm diam. Aerial mycelium fluffy, sometimes compact with greyish green or whitish/salmon pink tinges and occasionally reddish exudate droplets;reverse often with reddish discoloration and occasionally needle-like strains showed a positive reaction with the sodium hydroxide test: on application of a drop of NaOH green →red(E+ reaction). |
