As described in another previous publication9, different thermal expansion coefficients of the phases formed during sintering contribute to the high resistance of AZT ceramics against thermal shock. The focus of the present paper is on Al2O3-rich magnesium aluminate spinel, a widely used refractory material, which was modified by the addition of aluminum titanate. Initially, typical results of thermal shock experiments on AZT ceramic are shown for the purpose of comparison. |
