Then an amount of 10 ml of reacted stock solution was taken and added with a few droplets of silver nitrate solution, and it can be clearly seen that yellow precipitates formed and with the subsequent addition of ammonia into the mixture the amount of precipitates decreased but did not disappear. It then can be predicted that there is silver iodide in the final precipitates. The precipitates were then subjected to PXRD and XPS testing after filtration followed by light-resistant drying process. It can be seen from the PXRD pattern that the peak position of the precipitate and that of pure silver basically overlap. Moreover, the XPS testing also confirmed the presence of silver nitrate in the precipitates. So the prediction is correct. |
