The green variety of grossular, named tsavorite after its discovery near the Tsavo National Park, is colored by a trace of vanadium. Most of this material is found in “bombs,” crystals frozen in the host rock, with the transparent rough found in the cores. The color of tsavorite ranges from pale to intense dark green. Also occurring here is grossular in other colors, ranging from colorless and pale green to yellow, orange, and brown. Tanzania (table 4) is truly a treasure chest with respect to the sheer number of beautiful gemstones that the country produces. First notable for its tanzanites in the late 1960s, Tanzania next produced tsavorites, then Umba Valley sapphires, all in the northern part of the country. Most recently, the alluvial gem gravels of the Songea and Tunduru regions in the south have been productive. |

| 钙铝榴石绿色品种——沙弗来石的颜色是微量矾的颜色，是在察沃国家公园发现此种矿石之后命名的。大多数的此类矿石都是在“弹坑”中发现的，晶体结晶在寄生岩石中，而透明的杂质基本上都在内核里面。沙弗来石的颜色从灰白色到深墨绿色。在这种弹孔中也有钙铝榴石的其他颜色，包括无色、灰绿色、黄色、橙色和棕色等。坦桑尼亚（表4）是一个真正的珠宝库，他出产了非常多的漂亮宝石。1960年后期的坦桑石，后期的沙弗来石，翁巴谷蓝宝石等，这些宝石都出自坦桑尼亚的北部。最近，在南部的松盖阿和通杜鲁也发现了冲击宝石的砾石。 |
