5-Bromfurfural (7) Zur LOsung yon 28.8 g (300 mmol, 24.8 ml, d = 1.16 kg'1-1) frisch dest. Furfural mad j e einer Spatelspitze Hydrochinon mad Schwefel in 120 ml 1,2-Dichlorethan tropft man in der Siedehitze 57.5 g (360 mmol, 18.4 ml) Brom in 150 ml 1,2-Dichlorethan innerhalb von 3 h zu und erhitzt weitere 12 hunter RiickfluB. Nach dem Abziehen des Solvens wird ein schwarzbraunes Ol erhalten, das zur Reinigung mit Wasserdampf destilliert wird. Die Olbadtemperatur darf hierbei nicht h6her als 100 °C sein. In der Vorlage kristallisiert im Eisbad das 5-Bromfurfural 7 in gelben Nadeln aus. Umkristallisation aus wal3rigem 50%igen Ethanol liefert 7 als farblose Nadeln, Schmp. 80-81 °C, Ausb. 20.0 g (115 mmol, 38 %). (Lit. 4 : Schmp. 82 °C, Ausb. 61%).
