Yours sincerely, Editor Applied Surface Science Reviewers' comments: The presentation of the paper needs to be corrected significantly before accepting for publication. For examples 1. In the fourth line of the abstract the correct word would be adsorped instead of adsorpted. 2. Throughout the manuscript authors used nano-CoFe2O4 nanoparticles. The word 'nano' before should be deleted in all the places. 3. In the sample preparation section authors should look at the correct symbol of chlorine (Cl). 4. In section 3.2, regarding 'decrease of the surface tension in the aqueous solution was observed when the concentration of group in the solution was increased' is not clear. This requires more discussion to establish the experimental findings. 5. In section 3.3, the adsorption between the containing polymer dispersants and nanoparticles increases with the increased concentration of groups. This has been explained by considering a denser packing of the macromolecular chains on the nanoparticles. This does not indicate how the denser packing is favored by the presence of groups. This should be clearly explained. 6. In section 3.4, the interpretation regarding the increase of the absolute value of zeta potential with the increase of groups in the dispersants is required.
