COMMENTS TO AUTHOR: EIC Comment: I feel that your paper is on the edge of the Aims and Scope of the journal - Please review note below that I generally send out to Ag dissipation themed papers. I am willing to let this paper through for review if you provide the following" 1) Address how your paper fits within the Aims and Scope of the journal (in Cover letter) 2) Update your paper with line numbers 3) Per Instructions for authors - authors are required to recommend the names of at least two manuscript reviewers not affiliated with the authors' institutions. In addition, please provide rationale (e.g. expertise in a relevant area covered in manuscript) for selecting each of your recommended reviewers. Manuscripts without a transmittal letter and reviewer recommendations will be returned. Authors must describe the novelty or significance of their study and provide reason(s) for suitability for publication in BECT. "As a rapid communication and bulletin style journal, the Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology (BECT) receives a significant volume of submissions for review and only those deemed to receive strong support for publication from our reviewers qualify for further consideration for publication. I regret to inform you that your paper did not receive this required support. In the past, many papers that deal with the dissipation of chemicals from various food items have been accepted for publication. However, during the month of January 2013, a new EIC was assigned, a new Editorial Board was selected and the Aims and Scope of the journal were updated. The overall goal was to refocus the journal back to issues that deal directly with Environmental Contaminants and Environmental Toxicology. Please note the update with respect to dissipation studies – “dissipation studies should consider the potential fate of studied chemical(s) into surrounding environmental media instead of just reporting simple dissipation measurements and discussing potential human exposure” (or go to http://www.springer.com/environm ... age=pltci_1846722). For example, dissipation studies should now also discuss the fate of the studied contaminant(s) basing discussion on their physical chemical properties, measured concentrations in surrounding environmental media, measurement of metabolites and/or discussing information from other peer-reviewed papers. We understand the importance of food safety, but authors submitting dissipation studies are required to also discuss the environmental fate of their studied contaminant(s).?" 给BECT投稿后，编辑给的建议，但是不是很理解，坐等大神帮忙翻译一下。谢谢！ |
