Recent development of hybrid imaging systems has profoundly impacted the pool of available multimodal imaging probes. A combination of multifunctional molecular probes such as biomolecules, polymers, and nanoparticles continues to increase functionality for in vivo multimodal imaging and therapeutic agents. In this special issue, we take a great interest in studies on multimodal molecular imaging. Particularly, papers that deal with functional investigations of multimodal molecular imaging are welcome. Cutting-edge reviews relevant to this topic are also considered. This special issue will bring our communities the most recent ideas and advances in this field.
