OPEN POSTDOCTORAL POSITION INSTITUTE OF CHEMICAL RESEARCH OF CATALONIA (ICIQ) Tarragona, SPAIN Applications are invited for one Post-Doctoral position to work in the collaborative project Conducting and electroactive organic-inorganic polymers, thin films and monolayers for energy applications under the supervision of Prof. JR Galán-Mascarós and Prof. P. Ballester in the frame of ICIQ’s International Postdoctoral Mobility Programme (ICIQ-IPMP). Deadline: April 9 th 2015. The project is essentially multidisciplinary, and it will deal with the preparation of hybrid conducting organic polymers (i.e. PEDOT, ppy) via chemical or electrochemical polymerization reactions. The polymers will be processed (spin coating, drop casting or electrodeposition) with embedded electroactive species, such as chromophors, electron shuttles and molecular catalysts for the realization of (photo)catalytic water splitting, hydrogen production and high-density electron storage. We are looking for strongly independent and motivated candidates with a complete PhD degree in Chemistry and a proven track record in polymer chemistry. The project will have a strong focus on synthesis and processing. Therefore, further experience in organic synthesis, anaerobic Schlenk techniques, hydrothermal synthesis, spectroscopy (UV-Vis, CD, IR, Raman) or NMR is welcome.
