[交流] Diary 6

2015 - 02 - 05

Last time I posted diary in this site is more than one year ago. Things have changed a lot since that. I chose a major topic for my research study (condensed matter theory) and still keep my interest in high-energy physics and string theory (means that there remains probability to get back to these fields at my PhD).

And it seems that I was gradually got used to university life. I the academic one and I the social one get fabulously compatible to each other, with little cost that I have to sleep less than 6 hours a day. Being elected as group leader of PE department of student council and eventually submitted a research paper after numerous arguments and revisions, my life can be considered as successful.

And the coming challenge, for me, is the MCM (Mathematical Contest in Modeling). I'm not a math-major, but it seems that this competition suits extremely well to physics-major as it requires a high level modeling skill, at which physics guys are good. Actually, I was reading some outstanding paper of past competitions and coincidentally got back to emuch (I've to say that the environment here is still that traditional but lovely.

Also I have to deal with the standard test. I got 990/990 in GRE subject, but I'm diffidence of GRE general & TOEFL at all. Even though elder guys and my advisers say that these are not important relative to my GPA and my research status, I still have to get a distinguish and outstanding grade to ensure me to get offer of my dream school.

So, that's the dairy, or yearly summary of my life.
