墨尔本大学副教授招生两名博士生（一名生物学方向；一名桥梁相关

1. 墨尔本大学简介：墨尔本大学（The University of Melbourne），简称墨大，始建于1853年，是澳大利亚建校最早的大学之一，也是澳大利亚六所砂岩学府（Sandstone Universities）之一。墨尔本大学虽然坐落于澳大利亚墨尔本市，却是整个亚太的学术重镇，大量的澳洲私人捐款与联邦政府教育拨款更为墨大奠定了这一基础。作为澳洲八大名校（Group of Eight）重要的成员，墨尔本大学同时也是国际研究型大学联盟组织环太平洋大学联盟（APRU）的成员、亚太国际贸易教育暨研究联盟（PACIBER）的成员和Universitas 21的创始会员和秘书处所在地。在最新的世界大学排名中墨尔本大学成绩骄人：US NEWS世界大学排名第32位，QS世界大学排名33位，ARWU世界大学排名44位，THE世界大学排名33位。墨尔本大学是澳洲唯一一所在各个机构的排名中均进入前50位的大学。建校已来，墨尔本大学已经培养出3名诺贝尔奖得主，学术血统可见一斑。目前在校学生数为48719人，中国学生占国际生总数的7%。（详见http://baike.baidu.com/link?url= ... XnRp0Kgf7rxqDS9ZOpK） 2. 导师简介： Lihai Zhang (http://www.ie.unimelb.edu.au/people/staff.php?person_ID=146165) Research Interests Biomedical Engineering (Cartilage mechanics, nutrient transport in biological tissues, bone fracture healing) Computational modelling (Fluid-saturated porous materials) Structural Engineering (Reliability-based assessment of concrete bridges under traffic loading) Biography Dr Lihai Zhang is a senior lecturer （equal to associate professor ) in the Department of Infrastructure Engineering at The University of Melbourne. He received his Master of Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore with Research Scholarship in 1996, and then worked in the industry in the area of Civil Engineering and Information Technology application for nearly 10 years. Subsequently, he went on the Melbourne International Research Scholarship to further his PhD study at the University of Melbourne, where he obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2009. Dr Zhang has made important contribution to cartilage mechanics and homeostasis, osteoporotic bone fracture healing, and nutrient transport in biological tissues. He co-authored the book 'The Transport of Insulin-like Growth Factor through Cartilage in Porous Media Application in Biological Systems and Biotechnology', contributed more than 50 high quality refereed publications, and has so far attracted over $1.2M in research funding. One of his publications won the Cook Memorial Fund Award in 2008. Over the past five years at The University of Melbourne, Dr Zhang has been developing the research interests and capabilities in the development of a systematic approach to characterise the impact of traffic loading on the bridge structural performance using Engineering Reliability Analysis. He is the Chief Investigator of research grants awarded by National Health and Medical Research Council, AOTrauma Asia Pacific, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, and Royal Australian College of Surgeons. At University of Melbourne, he is co-ordinator of science majors in Engineering disciplines (Civil Systems) and the exchange advisor (Civil and Structural Engineering). More recently in October 2013 Dr Zhang was successful in winning the University of Melbourne's prestigious Dyason Fellowship awarded to facilitate international collaboration on a variety of projects with International peers.
