PhD Assistantship in Environmental Toxicology

PhD Research Assistantship in Environmental Toxicology at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee A PhD research assistantship is available in Dr. Hongbo Ma’s Environmental Toxicology Lab at the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health Environmental Health Sciences Program at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Ma lab’s research is centered in understanding environmental and human health impacts of emerging contaminants such as engineered nanomaterials using alternative animal models (e.g., the nematode C. elegans and zebrafish embryo). Current research project is focused on toxicological effects and their human health implications of engineered titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles in consumer products. The candidate is expected to have a Bachelor or Master (Master preferred) degree in (environmental) toxicology, biological sciences, molecular biology, genetics, or closely related areas. The candidate should have demonstrated laboratory experience and experience working with animal models is highly desirable. The award covers tuition and an annual stipend of approximate $17,000.
