Senior Research Associate/Assistant or Research Associate/Assistant in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (Appointment for 24 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. A/R/ /] Project Smart and Sustainable Campus Duties 1. To design a conceptual structure for a vibration-based energy harvester and test the conceptual design through mathematical simulation. 2. To derive mathematical model for the harvester and reveal its dynamic properties and energy performance and reveal the dynamic model so that its dynamic properties and the expected electrical energy can be determined and tested. 3. To optimize the efficiency of the energy harvester with or without using any smart material in the design and then verify its ability 4. To implement the energy harvester and its electrical circuit for storing harvested vibration energy and then converting to useful electricity. 5. To carry out all miscellaneous administration, teaching assistance and office-related work assigned by the supervisor. Requirements At least a Bachelor degree in Engineering or related disciplines, preferably to have a Master or senior degree. The requirements are the researcher should have in-depth knowledge in machine design, property of smart materials, remote machine condition monitoring, as well as experience in the design of mechanical devices, wireless communication and sensory integration. Preferably to have practical experience in designing energy harvester. Salary and Conditions of Service Salary offered will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
