北卡州立大学(NCSU)材料系 Prof. Linyou Cao Group 招公派访问学者 已有1人参与

The group of Prof. Linyou Cao at NC State University welcomes visiting PhD students to work on the synthesis, catalysis, and photonics of 2D transition metal dichalcogniede (TMDC) materials. Students are expected to have background of physics, chemistry, materials science, or any discipline in engineering. The Cao group pioneers the field of 2D TMDC materials. In 2013 the Cao group is the first to demonstrate a unique self-limiting chemical vapor deposition process that can be used to grow 5 centimeter scale, uniform, and high quality atomically thin MoS2 films with controlled layer numbers. The Cao group has also most recently for the first time demonstrated a unique surface-energy-assisted technique that can perfectly transfer the synthesized centimeter-scale MoS2 films onto arbitrary substrates without compromising the quality and properties. By leveraging on the unique synthetic and transfer capabilities, the Cao group has since pioneered research in the catalysis and photonics of 2D TMDC materials. Professor Cao has excellent track of record of mentoring visiting PhD students. For the three visiting PhD students that he has mentored to date, all of them have been able to publish one first-author paper plus multiple co-author papers in highly respected journals like Nano Letters, ACS Nano, and ACS Catalysis, regardless the academic background of the students. The research work in the Cao group is highly multidisciplinary. Students can expect to receive training in a wide range of fields from materials synthesis to optical and electronic characterizations, device fabrications, and electromagnetic simulations.
