Mn2+ is d5, d-d transition is forbidden in Octahedron geometry. The absorption extinction coefficient is very small, So it will not cause perturbation for your detection. However, if Mn2+ is coordinated as other geometry, it is possible to cause problem. Maybe you can add some agent to precipitate Mn, or add some other ligand to make the absorption of Mn compound red shift. |
