For chemists, the quantum mechanical treatments will be readily understandable. The tie-ins to spectroscopic results, for example, are straightforward and help to motivate the theoretical presentations. It may well be that physicists might have some problems with portions of the text. The thermodynamics treatment is something that chemists will be more familiar with.
