S58 (sol–gel-derived) and FeG (melt-derived) glasses(ratio 1:1) were mixed for 1 h with a vibratory ball mill. Fractions of 600 mg of the resultant mixture were pressed in disc-shape (13mm1.5 mm) by means of1.5 ton of uniaxial and 5 ton of isostatic pressing. The samples were heated at 7501C at a rate of 51C/min, maintained for 3 h and cooled at room temperature.
