第一次联系新西兰外导得到的回复说：

Thanks for your email and interest in doing a PhD in my group. I have read your CV, and your previous project and paper seem very interesting. I noticed that your IELTS results are below the threshold for the University of Canterbury. We expect students to have an overall score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6 in reading, writing, listening and speaking. It is possible to come and do an English course here to improve the scores. For admission into PhD, you need to submit your application and a short proposal (3-4 pages). What topic are you interested in?

但是，因为工作了，平时事情多，不想再考雅思，所以咱就回复：

Hi, Professor. I am interested in the topic of ..................................（谈了些对那个研究方向的想法）

Now I am a workman, so I don't have too much time to prepare the IELTS. I am very worry about the problem, because I always feel nervous in testing processes. But I have published over five English papers in the last several years. And I also do presentation in academic conferences for a few times.

Besides, one of my friends got an offer from your university this year with IELTS overall 6, and Speaking 6. Could I apply to be an English waiver?

结果外导仅仅回了一句：

Yes, it might be possible to get admission into PhD with the overall of 6 on IELTS

外导是什么意思呢？是不是觉得咱这个人英语都不想准备，所以不想要吗？请有经验的大神们帮忙分析下，谢谢！
