| In a plastics facility (2), a large high-pressure feed pump with a fixed-speed electric drive was operated with spillback control (figure 2). In this arrangement, the pump operated at constant flow and delivery pressure, and adjustments to the opening of the spillback value accommodated changes in the process demend.
