All samples contained white fused alumina (Union, Korea) as aggregates. In the AS (A), the 22wt% alumina richspinel (AR-78, Almatis, Netherland) was used without addition of microsilica, however, in the ASM (B, C), and 2.5wt% magnesia(dead-burnt magnesia 95wt%, d¡Ü75㎛ were used with varying the additive amount of microsilica.And 5wt% calcium aluminate cement (Secar71, Kerneos, France), which played role as a binder, and microsilica(with differeent contents such as 0.5wt% and 0.7wt%; 971U, Elkem, Norway) were used as well. The chemical composition of the experimental specimen and of raw materials are shown in table 1 and table
2.In order to analyze the expansion behavior of castables, all the specimens were heated up to 1700¡æ in RUL (refractoriness under load of 0.2MPa). And the thermal linear expansion rate (at 1600¡æ) were measured. And the all the specimens were prefired at 1000¡æ to obtain sufficient mechanical strength. The HMOR (hot modulus of rupture) was measured at 1400¡æ by using specimens with the size of 160mm¢ª40mm¢ª40mm.
