Physical, mechanical and corrosion protective properties The data of the physico-mechanical and corrosion tests of paint films derived from various coating formulations containing the pigments prepared and medium oil alkyd resin are summarised in Tables VI-VIII. It is clear, from Tables VI-VIII, that the paint films possessed the following characteristics. 1 Drying time of the paint films was similar to that of the commercial alkyd-based paints. 2 All formulations showed high film adhesion. 3 High hardness values were obtained for all paint films, especially for paint films containing 3Fe2O3: 1Al2O3 (paint nos. 3, 7, and 11). 4 All paint films showed good ductility values especially for paint films containing 1Fe2O3: 3Al2O3 (paint nos. 4, 8, and 12). 5 High impact resistance values were obtained for all paint films especially those containing 1Fe2O3: 3Al2O3 (paint nos. 4, 8, and 12).  1.png  2.png  3.png  4.png |
