But by the law, they, the old religion is set up, a man at thirteen, a boy at thirteen, becomes independent. Bah Mitzvah means "son of the commandments." He's responsible on his own. I think the line "tip of the iceburg" comes from Titanic, meaning the problem is much deeper than what you're seeing, but I could be wrong.--From MarieGranger A2: "Its just the tip of the iceberg" is a cliche people use to say that there is much more to a problem than the person they are talking to has seen. Icebergs are massive forms of floating ice in the see. Generally, the part showing above the surface of the water (the visable part) is several times smaller than the mass of ice underneath the surface. So, when Rachel said to Charlie, that's just the tip of the iceberg, she was saying that the part of Phoebe's obsessing over guys that Charlie "saw" was only a tiny bit of Phoebe's "problem" meaning she is probably lusting after many guys. It was funny because that was not the case at all, Rachel was lying to Charlie and using a cliche to prove her point. It wasn't really that funny...
