Method 1: hydrodynamic dispersion relationship When advective transport increases with respect to diffusive transport, not only diffusion but also hydro-dynamic dispersion occurs (Domenico and Schwartz,1997). This can be expressed by: where Dapp is the apparent diffusion coefficient, and α is the dispersion length (m), a characteristic of the porous medium.
