| Biomass, a renewable energy, will effectively reduce energy consumption and pollutant emission of steel enterprises if used in steel production. This article focuses on the application research of domestic and foreign biomass on steel production, and analyses its application prospects that the replacement of fossil energy by biomass using in steel production is entirely feasible. |

| Biomass energy is a kind of renewable energy resources. It will effectively reduce the energy consumption and pollutant discharge for the steel enterprises when used in steel production. This paper focuses on the application research of biomass energy in steel production, and analyzes its application prospects. It is believed that the biomass energy can feasibly replace the fossil energy in steel production. |

| As a renewable energy resources, biomass energy will effectively reduce the energy consumption and discharge of pollutants for steel and iron enterprises when used in steel and iron production. The present paper addressed the applied researches of biomass energy in steel and iron production, both domestically and internationally, as well as analyses of its application and prospects. It was thought that the fossil energy could be replaced feasibly by biomass energy in steel and iron production. |
