百度Google了很久，有说应该thesis的，有说dissertation的，也有说两者都可以用的，
我把自己找到的相关资源总结分享一下，希望对以后遇到同样问题的人有所帮助

dissertation  英音：[,disə'teiʃən]  美音：[,dɪsɚ'teʃən]
n.演讲；一般指博士论文；论文
Ann did her dissertation on Baudelaire.
安做有关波德莱尔的博士论文。
A fascinating dissertation by Dr. Timothy Leary.

柯林斯高级英语学习字典：~ (on sth) a long and serious piece of writing on a particular subject。韦氏词典中的解释为: a systematic exposition or argument in writing including a methodical discussion of the facts and principles involved and conclusions reached。
15.The work at hand is not a theoretical treatise.
这本著作不是一篇理论性的论文。
