Job Responsibilities:
1. Initiate and lead projects and studies to provide next-generation concepts and opportunities.
2. Evaluate and document performance benefits and commercial value for novel ideas, including both theoretical modeling and laboratory measurements.
3. Communicate internally and externally regarding technology opportunities and associated drivers to incorporate VOC feedback.
4. Engage with appropriate universities and research laboratories to cultivate relationships and networks to provide the earliest evidences of opportunity.
5. Protect and promote value gained from technology development, including patents and publications, to demonstrate a strong technical leadership position and promote increased commercial opportunities.
6. Regularly screen literature and attend conferences to enable awareness and promote opportunities.

Qualifications:

Education:
1. Graduate degree (master’s required, Ph.D. preferred) in science and/or engineering with a focus within one or more of the following subjects: Combustion Management, Catalysis, Materials Science, Thermal Management, Mechatronics, and Predictive Tools.

Work Experience:
1. Successful track record with evidence of leadership in technical foundations and global team-based activities
2. Ten years of experience in related field, or at least five years of emission controls experience

Specialized Skills/Knowledge:
1. Innovation is essential, which requires an understanding of the industry and customer gaps while having creativity with a technical foundation to offer novel solutions, as well as the leadership to execute its development and drive its commercialization
2. Excellent relationship building and networking to liaise between multiple cultures and organizations, in support of active engagement with world-class academic laboratories and professional societies
3. Multidisciplinary approach and understanding with an awareness of the current state-of-the-art in their discipline
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentations
5. Well-organized and willing to travel, possibly up to 20%
6. Foreign language skills a plus (English a MUST)
