Postdoctoral Position (Computer Vision, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA) 已有6人参与

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Arts and Science has an opening for a full-time position available for a post doc. This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related area. The goal of the project is to relate image features to plant physiological parameters. Work to be performed includes performing image analysis; design and development of innovative algorithms; writing publications and presenting at conferences; working with a team of basic and applied plant scientists to relate image data to plant physiology and morphology; identifying and following through on new grant opportunities, and other aspects of academic scholarship. It is anticipated that a balance will be struck between these activities and the research agenda of the postdoc themselves. Candidates should have a strong background in computer vision and image understanding, with an established track record of publishing in key conferences and workshops, as well as familiarity and experience with machine learning. Past involvement in grant writing would be looked upon favorably. The salary for this position is $50,000 a year. The initial appointment will be for one year, with extensions for further years dependent in part on the availability of funding (funding for a second year has been secured) and performance. Anticipated date of appointment is August 26, 2014.
