Postdoc/Ph.D./ Visiting Student positions in Electronic Material Research
The Advanced Thin-film Manufacturing (ATM) Laboratory at Florida State University, Department of Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering has multiple positions for postdoctoral researchers, Ph.D. and visiting students starting from August 2014.

The ATM Lab is dedicated on material and process innovation to achieve high performance, low cost electronic devices for generating renewable energy and boosting energy efficiency. The overall research covers a wide spectrum of material systems at different length scales including organic, inorganic and composites materials. We are looking for candidates majoring in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or other related disciplines. Research experience in CVD growth, chemical synthesis and processing of thin-film materials and/or nano materials is highly wanted.Knowledge on the fabrication, measurement, and analysis of solar cells, transistors, LEDs and lithium batteries is a plus. For postdoctoral candidates, past experience in building and maintaining vacuum equipment (CVD tools, RF sputter, E-Beam evaporator, etc.), as well as in mentoring junior research fellows is also desired.

All students and postdoctoral researchers will have immediate access to the fabrication and characterization facilities in the department, the joint High Performance Materials Institute and the Materials Science Program at Florida State University, and in the High Magnetic National Lab (2mins walk from the department). Such facilities include clean room (with photo-lithography and nano-lithography tools), a brand new MOCVD tool, furnace tube CVD, E-beam and thermal evaporators, RF sputters, pulse laser deposition, XRD, SEM, TEM etc.
