However, before we can proceed with your submission we ask you to address the following:
Language : PASS
Technical :
1. The maximum number of illustrations is strictly limited to five. If the maximum of 5 illustrations is used, then the total number of words must be reduced to 1600.
2. A minimum of two of the keywords is to be chosen from the list of fixed keywords that can be found at the end of the Guide for Authors.
3. Figures should be cited sequentially in the text.

PLEASE NOTE: Materials Letters would like to enrich online articles by displaying interactive figures that help the reader to visualize and explore your research results. For this purpose, we would like to invite you to upload figures in the MATLAB .FIG file format as supplementary material to our online submission system. Elsevier will generate interactive figures from these files and include them with the online article on SciVerseScienceDirect. If you wish, you can submit .FIG files along with your revised submission.
初次投这个杂志，除了将文字减为1600一下，请问我还需要改哪些地方，我4图1表，都直接插在手稿中，系统中只上传了手稿，cover letter，highlight三部分，没有传图片和表，怕生成的PDF文件大于8页，上文中的PLEASE NOTE是不是让我传图片，那我如何避免大于8页的问题？还有第二点关键词，我写了microstructure；和 mechanical properties；难道不对吗？望高手指点！

1，关键词的问题，它是要求你在Guide for Authors的列表里面挑上起码两个，不是说你的关键词不行。但是有时候明明你选上了两个列表的关键词，但是系统仍然把你打回来，你就说明一下就可以了。
2，PLEASE NOTE的那个东东不用管它啦，它是说提供这样一个选项，让你的文章丰富多彩一点而已，跟你图片数目什么的没有关系。
