[交流] Ph.D. student positions in Cancer research/Drug discovery at University of Macau

Ph.D. studentship positions for 2015 Spring admission are available in Dr. Joong Sup Shim’s Lab in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Macau (http://fhs.umac.mo/staff/academic-staff/joong-sup-shim-ph-d/).
With an unprecedented support of Macau SAR Government, the University of Macau is now making a quantum leap to be the world class university with the construction of the beautiful new campus in Hengqin Island near Macau (http://www.umac.mo/new_campus_project/). The University of Macau has established the new Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) with the aim to perform highly innovative scientific research. The FHS is well equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, bioinformatics, drug development and imaging cores (https://fhs.umac.mo/).

Dr. Shim’s lab is working in the area of Cancer Research and Drug Discovery aiming to develop novel targets and anticancer therapeutics. The candidates should be highly motivated and enthusiastic about scientific research, and have a strong background in biological sciences and experiences in cell culture and laboratory experiments. Candidates with experiences in molecular biology including RNAi and microRNA are preferred but not essential. Priority will be given to those with master degree or in the final year of master program and with fluency in English speaking and writing. The recruitment will be continued until the end of July (2014). The successful candidates are expected to start Ph.D. program on February 2015 with monthly salary of MOP12,500 (RMB 9,634) during the PhD program.
