[交流] Minor changes to overcome procrastinaton

As a real procrastinator, I wanna to share some tips which I learnt from the open course and personal experience with you here.
Several ways to overcome procrastination:
  • 5-minute takeoff
5-minute takeoff sounds like our Chinese saying that a good beginning is half the success. Sometimes, it is not the work that we procrastinate in itself is tough,  more often but that we do nothing at first.  5-minute takeoff is Vividly the same as the plane will slide on the airfield runway before flying in the sky. We can put it in another way. Human beings, as material objects, are doomed to be commanded by Newton's law of inertial. So whether being compelled or enthusiastic to start, the force of inertial perhaps leads us to a more continuous path.
  • reward ourselves
Reward can be applied to both start and process. Mentally, it injects a motivation into us to begin a cause or keep on what we are doing. There is a variety of means to reward which at best are considered to fit ourselves most. The key point is that reward should be at the right time when we need most. The change to get praise can also be created by ourselves even if there is absence of reward from the external world.
  • go public
Going public seems to form an external regulating or overseeing force on us through spreading your plan to others. For example, I decide to do physical exercise three times and tell this resolution to my close friends. Then I have to do it under normal circumstances because I don't want to be a least doer or an reliable person in others' eyes even those who know me well. A kindly reminder is that this way will put a certain level of pressure on individual, so keeping the pressure under control is a must.
  • set specific goals or lists
When faced with seemingly endless work or so overwhelmed that we leave those things behind despite of emergency, it is a useful way to write a to-do list. We sort out what needs to be done now, after a while, and a day later. Personal experience about is a readjustment after the May Day holiday. I was so relived after break that I didn't want to anything but idle about on the Internet even though the inner voice reminded me that it was not a good state. Then I attempted to write down a to-do list about routine in the coming days. The feeling at the second day was good to be energetic and oriented. I knew exactly the next achievable work and what I needed was just doing it little by little .
For the purpose of interaction, I hope those tips mentioned above will help you and you will leave some ways of your own to overcome procrastination to share with us.

I learned from the open course. The basic rules are almost the same, I just added some learning experience and went public forcing myself to continue practice them.
