ATC-2014: The 11th IEEE International Conference on Autonomic and Trusted Computing Link: http://cse.stfx.ca/~atc2014/ When: December 9-12, 2014 Where: Bali Island, Indonesia Submission Deadline: July 31, 2014 Notification Due: September 30, 2014 Final Version Due: October 20, 2014 Computing systems including hardware, software, communication and networks are growing towards an ever-increasing scale and heterogeneity, becoming overly complex. Such complexity is getting even more critical with the ubiquitous permeation of embedded devices and other pervasive systems. To cope with the growing and ubiquitous complexity, Autonomic Computing (AC) focuses on self-manageable computing and communication systems that exhibit self- awareness, self-configuration, self-optimization, self-healing, self-protection and other self-x operations to the maximum extent possible without human intervention or guidance. Organic Computing (OC) additionally addresses adaptability, robustness, and controlled emergence as well as nature-inspired concepts for self-organization. Any autonomic or organic system must be trustworthy to avoid the risk of losing control and retain confidence that the system will not fail. Trust and/or distrust relationships in the Internet, Web applications and pervasive infrastructures are key factors to enable dynamic interaction and cooperation of various users, systems, and services. Trusted/Trustworthy Computing (TC) aims at making computing and communication systems as well as services available, predictable, accountable, controllable, assessable, sustainable, dependable, persistent and secure. A series of grand challenges exist to achieve practical autonomic or organic systems with truly trustworthy services. Started in 2005, the series of ATC conferences have been held at Nagasaki (Japan), Vienna (Austria), Three Gorges (China), Hong Kong (China), Oslo (Norway), Brisbane (Australia), Xi’An (China), Banff (Canada), Fukuoka (Japan), and Vietri sul Mare (Italy). ATC 2014 will include a highly selective program of technical papers, accompanied by workshops, panel discussions and keynote speeches. Established as a premier venue in the area of autonomic and trusted computing, ATC 2014 will offer a forum for researchers to exchange ideas and experiences in the most innovative research and development in these challenging areas and include all technical aspects related to autonomic/organic computing (AC/OC) and trusted computing (TC). Topics of interest include but are not limited to: * AC/OC Theory and Models * AC/OC Architectures and Systems * AC/OC Components and Modules * AC/OC Communication and Services * AC/OC Tools and Interfaces * Trust Evaluation and Management * Trust-related Security and Privacy * Trusted Reliable and Dependable Systems * Trustworthy Services and Applications * Trust Standards and Non-Technical Issues Two tracks of submissions are solicited: 1. Research Papers should present innovative and mature research in topics related to autonomic and trust computing. They should clearly describe a novel and significant contribution to the area and support claims of novelty with citations to the relevant literature and validations of the research results. 2. Demo Papers should outline cutting-edge work in a demonstrable system, accompanied by a live or video demonstration. The research papers are limited to 8 pages, while the demo papers are limited to 4 pages, all following the IEEE CS format. Research papers are to be submitted as a PDF file via the ATC 2014 submission site by July 31, 2014. Accepted papers will be published by IEEE CPS (IEEE-DL and EI indexed). At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register and present their work at the conference; otherwise the paper will not be included in the proceedings. Best Paper/Demo Awards will be presented to high quality papers/demos. Selected papers, after further extensions and revisions, will be published in special issues of prestigious journals. The ATC 2014 Organizing Committee also invites proposals for workshops associated with the conference, addressing research areas related to the conference. Accepted workshop papers will be included in the proceedings published by IEEE CS Press. Please send you workshop proposals to ATC 2014 Workshop Co-Chairs. Honorary Chairs Stephen S.
