题目 Educational institutions have a responsibility to dissuade students from pursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed. Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. Observing and studying students for many years , most experts in these institutions gain the capability to evaluate the weakness and strength of a students .If these institutions deem that a students is less likely to be去掉 succeed in one part, they may dissuade him from pursuing that field it .At the same time , although this behavior may avoid the risk of completely going astray and being abandoned by society , it will sometimes constrain our possibilities of advancement and capabilities of breakthrough . To some extent , the advice given by educational institutions benefits students’ enterprise and future. Under the persuasion of giving up pursuing certain field , students can sometimes make less mistakes as well as get better living quality during the whole life. On the contrary , if one kept moving forward on the way which is not suitable for him , he would regret to neglect the suggestions from educational institution. It is a common sense that characteristic can determine one’s destiny. As it is written by John McCain in the book Character Is Destiny ,“People can ascribe success to many kinds of excellent characteristics .”If one student dose not have the talent or character to one field ,such as researching ,painting or acting , educational institutions should dissuade him from sticking to it any more .The cost of deviation sometimes will influence one’s whole life . However, persuading students from pursuing the field of study in which they are less likely to succeed will be not scientific . One part we need to consider is what is the real success ,because different people hold diverse answers. Absolutely ,there is There is no success with a unified criteria ,because standard of success also changes as the time goes by .Vincent Van Gogh was almost regarded as a loser at that time .But contemporary artists concede that he has a far-reaching influence on the post-impressionism painting and he is an excellent painter who should be respected by us. Another part is that one student dose not show talent on a certain aspect maybe not because they are not intrinsically unsuitable to that area. No one can imagine that Napoleon Bonaparte whose behavior was not outstanding in a religious school, because he could not practically spell French properly and spoke with a heavy Corsician accent ,would become the emperor of France. So it is not easy to make decision for students , some unintended persuasions may ruin one person. Educational institutions should advise students to make decision , however they should not dissuade students from pursuing it . Interest and perspiration will guide student to the way to success. |
