PhD student positions in Structural Materials and Mechanics

| A few PhD student positions are available at the structural mechanics and materials (SMM) group at the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE), The University of Alabama. Current research of SMM is sponsored by five awards from NSF and NASA, including scalable manufacturing and characterization of hierarchical structural composites, low and non-clinker green binders, FRP applications in constructions, deterioration science of bi-material interface, and thermodynamic-simulation based material design and synthesis. If you are interested in this opportunity, please be aware that the minimum requirements for admission to our graduate program are as fellows: 1) GPA > =3.0; 2) TOEFL >= 550 (paper based) or >= 79 (internet based) or IELTS >= 6.5; 3) GRE >=300. A background in civil/mechanical/aerospace engineering is highly desirable. If you are not in engineering, we have a MS/PhD program, in which you will first earn a ms degree in engineering once you earn sufficient credit hours. This is designed to help you to find a job in engineering easier. |
