Take a note for 5th. April

It is said that the Annotations to Records of the Three Kingdom written by Pei Songzhi is almost twice the length of the original. And today I’d like to take a note for the last Saturday, 5th April. Actually these words were supposed to be posted on that day. But it seems I intentionally missed the date as I’m really tired of geeks making this day some kind of memorial. This day has become a ritual in the past two decades and different kinds of people, who love rock&roll or know nothing but MJ about it, all wanna make a splash out of his name, what a world. An iconoclast has become an icon after he died. Fortunately, 20 years passed, the precious value of media hype finally fades away along with the ruthless elapse of time. And the age of 27, the once insurmountable obstacle for him is also left behind. Time and tide wait for no man, only the dead one remains 27. His legacy: Perhaps there is more symbolism than practical significance for the dead. None of his imitators were proved to be successful. On the contrary, the ignored talents, such as My Bloody Valentine, finally become the grandmaster. As to his “legacy”, I just wanna say something about his daughter. Just like the feeling that he is forever 27 in my mind, his daughter is always 2 years old for me. However, people alive do grow up eventually. And sadly, I cannot find an aura of elegance in the growing up Frances Bean Cobain:  Maybe this is unfair for her. This girl, no matter what, is just a tiny shadow of his father.
