Two groups of nile tilapia £¬ fast-growth group and normal-growth group£¬ were analyzed and 77 sequences of 5¡ä-flanking region of GHSR gene were obtained from 80 individuals£¨40 individuals of  each group£©by PCR amplification and sequencing method.A total of 57 variation sites,  12 inserting or deleting sites and 45 polymorphic sites, and 16 kinds of haplotypes were found in the 77 sequences of GHSR gene. The Hap2 was the original haplotype  widely distributed in two groups.The 16 kinds of haplotypes were divided into two branches (A and B) in the phylogenetic tree. Branch A contained 11 kinds of haplotypes found in both groups with  higher distribution frequency in fast growth group. Branch B contained 5 kinds of haplotypes  distributed in normal growth group only . The nucleotide diversity (pi), haplotype diversity (Hd) and average number of nucleotide differences (K) of the fast growth group were all  higher than those of the normal growth group. The FST value between these two groups was -0.2(P >0.1) and the genetic differences  were mainly from intragroup (120%), which suggested that no genetic differentiation existed between these two groups.
