http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijp/si/701502/cfp/ Recently, hierarchical structures have attracted increasing interest due to their exceptional photocatalytic properties and widespread potential applications. Up to now, many hierarchical structures, such as nanoleaves, nanoflowers, nanotubes, hollow microspheres, nanorattles, and even nanowebs, have been synthesized and characterized. The controlled synthesis of hierarchical nanostructures (or ordered superstructures) is more desirable to extend the novel properties of nanomaterials and promote their potential applications. However, fabrication of highly photoactive hierarchical nanostructures (or ordered superstructures) still remains as a great challenge. To establish the relationship between hierarchical structures and photocatalytic activity of photocatalysts, we invite researchers in this field to contribute with original research articles as well as review papers that will stimulate the continuing efforts for the fabrication and characterization of hierarchically structured materials with superior photocatalytic performance. We are particularly interested in articles describing the new methods for fabrication, characterization, recent developments in both experimental and theoretical aspects, and technological applications of novel hierarchically nanostructured (or ordered superstructured) photocatalytic nanomaterials. Potential topics include, but are not limited to: Fabrication and characterization of hierarchical semiconductor oxide photocatalytic nanomaterials Self-assembly of organic (porphyrin and phthalocyanine) or inorganic-organic hybrid photocatalytic nanomaterials Surface effect of hierarchical nanomaterials on photocatalytic activity and selectivity Applications of hierarchical photocatalytic nanomaterials in environmental purification, sterilization, hydrogen production, CO2 reduction, and dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal¡¯s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/ijp/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/ijp/hstp/ according to the following timetable: Manuscript Due Friday, 4 April 2014 First Round of Reviews Friday, 27 June 2014 Publication Date Friday, 22 August 2014 |
