The reasonable design of acoustic transceiver array will directly affect the real-time measurement performance of acoustic CT systems and the reconstruction accuracy of temperature field .In order to realize acoustic CT monitoring of the temperature distribution of grain storage , computer simulation design deal with parameters such as the number of acoustic transceiver arranged around a cylindrical warehouse and its layout and effective route selection has been carried out . The results of the three typical three-dimensional model temperature field reconstruction showed that the effective acoustic propagation path selection, the layers of transceiver arrangement , the transceiver number of each arrangement will all have a greater effect on the quality of the model temperature field reconstruction. An array of acoustic transceiver simulation design will optimize the parameters of the transceiver arrays and improve the performance of the CT system and the accuracy of acoustic temperature field reconstruction .

Experiments conducted using strategically positioned transceivers inside a grain silo shows exactly how the accuracy of acoustic CT reconstructed temperature field data can be affected by:
  1. The effective sound path, taking into account any obstruction physical or otherwise
  2. Spatial distribution of transceivers - how many on each floor and on how many floors
Simulation results from three typical arrays are presented, followed by detailed discussions of how any acoustic array can be made to yield more accurate grain temperature predictions.
